At the end of each song there is text for three more verses. Felice Anerio, ‘Al suon non posa il core’ (p. 29), is described as being for Canto, Tenore, and Basso. The Tenore part is set in the mezzosoprano c clef.
Dedication, by Verovio, dated ‘10. d’Agosto 1589’. Title page has an engraving depicting Orpheus with a lyre.
Copy at K.8.d.6. Imperfect. Wanting pages 41-42; the end of Gasparo Costa, ‘Se fredda è la mia donna’, and Francesco Soriano, ‘Vedo ogni selva rivestir le frondi’ are therefore lacking. The copy bears a manuscript foliation which runs from 42 to 61, suggesting it may have been bound with another item at one time. Bears the stamp ’Ex libris M. X. Principis Burghesi’.
